Place to discuss brainstorm rules for the league(mainly those that will/might differ from other league).

In season IFA bidding in the MLB, I believe, is done under sealed bid. Where teams don't know how much anyone else is bidding for a player. When the bids are open the winning bid is whoever bid the most years and money. However look at the depth in this strategy. The Cardinals just won Aledmys Diaz, in a sealed bid system, at almost half what everyone expected him to go for. While The Red Sox outbid the next nearest bidder by $20+ million for DiceK.
Why not give everyone a deadline to submit (or not submit) their bids for IFA. They can all DM one Admin under the heading of the IFAs name that way the admin doesn't open them before hand and accidentally contaminant his own bid (if he has one).
It took forever to explain it but it truly is a minor rule change that brings more strategy into the IFA bidding process and brings it more in line with the MLB real world.
I know that in the real world MLB they also don't have a "open" FA bidding system either, like this one does (or as a very wise Admin pointed out the "real world does not have a salary cap as well". I get all that. But I figure baby steps.
I think this would be a fun and exciting tweak that would make people really think about the value of a IFA before placing a bid other then letting people dictate the market.
Just a very humble thought.

I believe the posting system is only used for the Japanese and Korean leagues? All other IFA's are treated like normal FA's
After the new posting system was established this offseason with the Japanese league, that system is also basically like FA, with the player getting to pick whichever contract offer they'd like to sign amongst the teams offering. The 20M max bid is just a formality for any clubs actually looking to sign a top tier player.

True while the "posting system" is only available to professional athletes from Korea and Japan, most of not all of thr bidding that occurs for the international free agents is done in a far less public domain format then US Free Agency where everyone knows that Jacoby received 4 deals of varying lengrh and terms from certain teams. At which time various GMs and agents can negotiate in both the public and private domains. But I submit IFAs are a completely different system and it would be much more (dare I use the term) fun and accurate implementing this small tweak.
