Mets Cap: -8.9
Angels Cap: +9.8
I've been looking to add young talent at the cost of 2017 Cap/Veterans this offseason, and this deal accomplishes that. Miller is set up to have a potentially historic year in the new role the Indians are using him in, but I've been trying to find deals where I can reduce my cap commitment going through next offseason, which includes moving Miller. I eat some tough contracts in Bailey (Hasn't really done anything in two years), and Puig (no idea what to expect, but not expecting much), but the prospect talent compensates for the ~10M cap hit, alongside moving Miller. Martes and Ray are the headliners, but I like the ceilings of the other guys I'm getting alongside them - even if I'm adding another 4 OF specs to the ridiculous number I have already.
Thanks for the talks Mets, don't spend it all in one place .
