Chicago Pirates and Cincinnati have negotiated a trade -
Chicago gets Byron Buxton OF MIN - $0.3
Cincinnati gets Sonny Gray SP OAK - (2nd) $0.5 Tony Watson RP PIT - (3rd) $1.0 Starling Marte LF PIT (3rd) $1.0 Nick Travieso SP (Reds) - $0.3
CAP Implications - Pirates -$2.5 Orioles +$2.5
I wanted this trade to give me 3 current players who impact the coming season and that I have some substantial control off. Gray is an up and comer with solid stuff who should be a top of the rotation type guy soon. All players help fill various voids due to losses in free agency in case that I cannot get them back. It also brings back home Travieso who is going well in the minors. It is tough losing the top prospect like Buxton but I feel the return I got for him helps offset the loss. I am more than comfortable with this deal.

Please check names for accuracy before posting. I know you mean Gray but needs to be correct for approval.

Pirates Accept
Taking a step back for this season with the trade but I think Buxton will be a dynamite combo with Puig in 2015

I corrected the name. My apologies. I have really, really fat fingers and type horribly.

Watson cannot be a 3rd and have a salary of $0.5.

Looks like the original lineup had him incorrectly as a 3rd. Looks like he should be a 2nd. Post has been amended as such.

Watson reached 50 IP in 2012 so he should be a 3rd $1.0

I have changed Watson back to a 3rd at $1.0M. The increase in salary doesn't change my intent on the players involved.

If Pirates can confirm that they are still interested after the adjustments, this is an approve.
There's a lot being leveraged on Buxton here, I'm really interested to see how this one pans out.
EDIT: Please include links to stats for the prospects listed. A simple baseball reference page will do.

I guess if you are gonna give up four players for a 19 yr old he better have superstar potential and Buxton does so approve.
