By posting this trade, Twins accept. As I've made quite clear with all my moves, I'm planning for 2019 and beyond. I'm looking to build the deepest squad of top-tier prospects so even if some flame out (which they will), I'll have enough to put together a good team. By the time I'm really ready to compete, Fulmer and Giles will likely be at the end of their rookie deals, so now with all the control left, their values were at its peaks. All 6 of the guys I'm getting in return are probably 2 years away and that fits right into my timeline. Duplantier has been a stud and is the name I'm most excited about. Kendall and Heredia have shown early that they are capable of being good pro hitters, and LAD loves playing their young OFs. The buzz around Garrett has fizzled out a little over the past year but I still like what he's got and think he's still got a good chance to be a BOR starter. Alzolay had a rough 2016 but bounced back this season, and Naylor has been a very good run producer so far for a team that will need run producers very badly in San Diego.
Easy deal Pirates, good luck this season.
