Cincinnati Cap +1.3 St. Louis Cap -1.0
Tough trade to make. Cole is a top 70 prospect, ranked 69 by MLB.com and 53 by Baseball Prospectus, and he's having another good year. Lively has electric numbers in A ball (even if scouting reports don't totally match), and Beras oozes potential. I don't have much of a farm system, and Cole was one of the top 2 guys I had left. I only make the deal because Marte and Watson are only 3rd year guys, so 3 additional years of control on each, and Marte has plenty of potential left. Watson has been a holds machine with great ratios, and his holds and Marte's steals will help boost a couple categories I need some assistance in. Church is just a toss in, a rookie baller with a hint of upside.
I also do this deal to clear some cap, dropping Balfour's cap number gives me a little extra flexibility going forward to possibly add another piece.
Another epic discussion with a few dozen iterations, nice deal JP.

Accept.
In my journey to try to (re)collect all the CIN and Baltimore prospects I went out to gather Ben Lively. Starling Marte has seemed lost sometimes this year (.264 BA) at the plate and if he isn't hitting nor stealing bases (he has been CS 5 out of 22 attempts) for me then he really is barely in my starting lineup. AJ Cole seems like he has rediscovered what he lost when he went to Oakland. Ben Lively is having a great season and love the deception in his delivery. Jairo Beras looks like a fun prospect to watch...
You know you enjoy those long discussions Scott! Great trading with you as always!

Veto
Soto was signed this past offseason as a free agent, and is not yet eligible to be traded.

The 1st trade of him was an oversight but he still retains his FA status. You can rework or wait until June 30th to post.
