1) The current rules state that all players in the arbitration years (4th-6th) have their salaries calculated from the scale in the rules section.
2) The proposed change is that any players with very small samples default to the minimum salary: In the arbitration years (4th-6th) hitters who have less than 50 ABs in the previous season will automatically be given a salary of $1.0 In the arbitration years (4th-6th) pitchers who have less than 10 IP in the previous season will automatically be given a salary of $1.0
This would help to avoid the following type of contract: RP - Chris Narveson (6th) $3.2 where the player only pitched 2 innings last year, giving up no earned runs and two hits.
1) Keep the rules as they are 2) Introduce minimum requirements to the arbitration scale with players below the minimum defaulting to a salary of $1.0
