I think I'm primed for another run with a few moves at the end of the season that set me up with solid options on short contracts. I'm primarily looking for prospects and starting pitching.
I'm going to open up some of my complimentary pieces for prospects. Not great prospects, mind you. I'll also consider any MLB-caliber starting pitching. These include the following:
2B/LF/CF - Emilio Bonifacio, 2015, 3.0
2B/3B/SS - Mike Aviles, 2015, 0.8
3B - Chris Johnson, 6th, 1.0
SS - Jonathan Villar, 3rd, 1.0
The BATS are a little more limited. I purposefully traded for a few bats I knew would need re-signing. In the wake of my run, I've been left with a choice I'd rather not make in who to re-sign and who to let float away.
OBP, HR, R, RBI
Miguel Cabrera, 2016+, 15.5 (1B/3B) - Probably not the best hitter on the face of the planet anymore, but right up there. A 3B and some prospects gets him. He might be expensive to acquire, but not other-worldly.
OBP, HR, R, RBI, SB
Michael Brantley, 6th, 10.8 (LF/CF) - Holy Arbitration Surprises! This guy might have won me the league, he's in his prime and looking like a 5-category fantasy stud. On the table, but not actively shopping. If you want him, make an offer.
HR, R, RBI, SB
Ian Desmond, 6th, 2.7 (SS) - Maybe the cream of the 4-category MI crop. Looking for a younger SS in the form of a prospect or young MLBer + other prospects/RP.
Untouchable-ish: FREEMAN, Yelich, Kipnis, Gordon
(RP) The only category I didn't finish in the top-5 in was HLDS. As this is a need, I intend to address it. I'm only looking for 100% reliable setup men, with impervious men in front of them in the bullpen rotation who can neither be hit with baseballs or have their ligaments damaged. In return, I'll offer up some of these fellows.
CL - Addison Reed, 4th, 1.8
RP - Bryan Shaw, 3rd, 1.0
RP - Carter Capps, 3rd, 1.0
RP - Danny Farquhar, 3rd, 1.0
RP - Dale Thayer, 4th, 1.3
PROSPECTS
As you can see, I don't necessarily value HLDS very much. It's a frustrating category that only the luckiest, wiliest owners capture. It's the Snipe of fantasy baseball...damnit, Bobby! (King of the Hill references are the dumbest, most poignant references)
Untouchable-ish: KIMBREL, Cody Allen, Walden,Jansen
*all requirements subject to change upon trade talks, beer consumption, other deals, specific offerings, or whims of fancy.
