Just wanted to see if there was any people out there who were interested in moving up the date when recent FA signings can be traded. I think 2 weeks earlier allows for more teams to have a chance to better their team BEFORE there is too large of a gap for them to over come in the standings. Again just wanted to open it for discussion.

I don't see any particular problem with this. I guess it's just a preference thing.
My question (which I don't know how to judge or answer) - do you think that bringing back that date will encourage more teams to try to remain in contention and be buyers, or lead to more teams throwing in the towel and selling earlier?

I'm not really sure (I wish I knew the future)... But with our deterrent to "tanking" does it really matter?

Missed this thread for whatever reason. I'd be in favor.
Maybe a vote would be something to look at.

So the suggestion is to move the deadline to mid-August?

No sorry. I botched the title of this subject... I'm referring to:
5.11.1 Free Agent Initial No-trade Window You may not trade a Free Agent signing until June 30th of the season he is signed.
So instead of it being June 30th it would be June 16th.

Ah right, I see. I think 30 June works fine at the moment but don't have strong feelings either way

Just to requote what I said earlier: I think 2 weeks earlier allows for more teams to have a chance to better their team BEFORE there is too large of a gap for them to over come in the standings.
The last 2 seasons have seen 2 or 3 teams have a sizeable gap in the standings and was just seeing if this could make things more competitive.

Don't see any particular issues with it currently or what you are proposing JP. I don't think two weeks makes a massive difference so is this adjustment really going to help?
