The move accomplishes two things for me. Primarily, Garza adds quality depth to a relatively shallow pitching staff. The move also allows me to trim a little salary (I am tight against the cap) by dumping the contracts of Holland and Betancourt. Reyes was the guy I least wanted to move, as I think he'll be one of the next talented young SPs that STL just seems to keep churning out. Garcia's health is probably the X-factor in the trade; if he's able to pitch most the year the deal may not end up in my favor. But that's not something I would want to bank on.
Accept. Not going anywhere right now with Garza, so I get back Ross with a few years left along with two quality prospects. Ramirez is knocking on the door and should have an opportunity to pitch for the Cubs at some point this year, while Reyes is far away but hopefully an impact player down the line. Holland, Betancourt, and Garcia are salary considerations. Garcia and Betancourt, with the option year, could provide some contributions but I won't hold my breath.
Rangers, all 1st year players included in agreed trades should have a link provided for them to help TTC with assessing the deal. Baseball reference or fangraphs are suitable sites to get links to player profile pages.
Also, if a player included in the trade was unprotected when they were traded this too should be specified for the ease of TTC, along with the salary the arbitration process determines that they should earn.
The trade can and will be voted upon following the inclusion of the additional details.
