All,
I've made a small addition to the code of conduct, adding the following point:
•Punting to improve draft position is considered to be bad form. All teams should be trying to finish as high as possible in the standings with their available rosters, selecting their optimum line-up wherever and whenever possible.
If you have any questions then please post them here.

What if instead of punting I merely scuffle or drag my feet? Do I have to punt to be considered guilty of this charge?

We could have a lottery, for the first pick like they do in basketball. Would also help prevemtimg punting and abandomed teams getting first pick. Sorry bout spelling, working outside with gloves on.

Actually there is some online sites that will run a draft order set up like the NBA. Where the last place team has X number of chance to get the first pick, second to last has Y, etc. But I think that gets kind of complicated. I mean really it looks like a lot of people on here spend a lot of time perfecting their teams so I think the chances of punting are kind of small. But if someone does punt, then let's string them up by their toes.

This is going to sound incredibly biased coming from the guy who's team is going to be low in the table but the lottery does not solve punting. if your sitting 5th with a month to go and have no shot of winning then teams will ount to get in the lottery when they actually have a good team. Basically I dont feel that the lottery prevents punting it actually just increases punting by the top teams if they have a bad start to the season because rather than trying to get back into it they will just give up and hope to get lucky in the lottery.

You could just change the draft to a snake format to also discourage punting. But IMO I really wouldn't think anyone would "punt". But I guess I could just be naive.

The current draft ordering works fine. But similarly to real life baseball, a simple understanding that each team has to attempt to win as much as possible with the rosters available to them should be sufficient.
