Mets receive: 2B - Dan Uggla, 2014, $1.8 LF - Jason Kubel, 2014, $1.8 RP - Mitchell Boggs (6th) $1.0 OF - Austin Meadows (Pirates) 1st, $0.3 www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=meadow000ausGiants receive: LF/RF - Nelson Cruz, 2014, $4.1 OF - Gary Brown (Giants) 1st, $0.3 www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=brown-005garCap change: Mets: +$0.5 Giants: -$0.5 Reasoning: Trading the hot hand in Cruz that won't be around to help when the Mets compete again for a high ceiling talent in Meadows. Others are salary considerations and Brown is a somewhat stalled prospect that is likely a reserve OF when he makes it.

I accept: I was not expecting to be leading the standings over a third of the way through the season, so i am taking a bit of a gamble to see if I can keep myself there until the end of september!
I don't have many HR hitters in my lineup so Cruz should immediately help me in the HR, TB and RBI categories. i doubt whether he can keep up his current pace but even if he doesn't he'll still be a big upgrade, especially bearing in mind i just lost Pollock for 2 months.
it's tough to part with Meadows - he's a premium prospect and i only just drafted him, but he's a long way from the majors and i have already have a very good OF prospect in Joc Pederson. also i went big on offense in the first year draft just completed, so i still have some decent hitting prospects in the 3/4 yr pipeline.
Brown's development seems to have stalled big time, but he was a 1st round pick and the giants aren't exactly flushed with hitting prospects so there's still a chance he'll become an every day player
obviously if I end up falling away this season then i'll probably be regretting this trade in 3/4 years' time, but you only live once so let's see what happens! thanks Mets for some good trade talks

Gents,
Could you please ensure that you add the contract/year for every player (despite the fact it's obvious for Meadows and Brown it helps for clarity/continuity) and could you please add links for the 1st year players? Baseball reference or fangraphs or milb.com are good.
Cheers, Stephen
