The royals class A affiliate hasn't had a HIT in 20 2/3 straight innings!!!! Sounds like you have plenty of offense in the pipeline to supplement Billy Butler

Saw that, great example of why so few trades get done, and why so many don't work out so great.

Tough night for hitters. Lots of low numbers on the boards.

Being a Rays fan, I know they play on turf but I didn't realize there's only one other venue that uses an artificial playing surface. This could be a decent bar bet.
Excerpt from Wikipedia...
The Rogers Centre is one of two remaining venues in Major League Baseball using artificial turf (the other one is Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida), and the only one that uses "sliding pits" instead of a complete dirt infield.

I'm not sure what else the umps can do there?
I guess we'll get to a point where players apply tags in all situations and assume nothing?

I guess so. I didn't think it would be reviewable if it affected the outcome of a separate play, guess I was wrong. What I really don't get is why it took so damn long. He obviously tagged him, so what took so long.

Holy Shit.
Cubs/A's deal official. Samardzija and Hammel for Russell, McKinney, Straily, ptbnl.
The A's first four sp could be all-stars and the Cubs farm just got that much more insane.

Seriously, the Cubs system is just ridiculous. Assume Schwarber moves quickly as it looks he can, and assume he either sticks at C or maybe moves to LF...
C Kyle Schwarber? 1B Dan Vogelbach? Kris Bryant? Anthony Rizzo? 2B Arismendy Alcantra? Starlin Castro? SS Addison Russell? Starlin Castro? 3B Kris Bryant? Javier Baez? LF Kyle Schwarber? CF Alberto Almora RF Jorge Soler
Incredible potential lineup. Not even enough room for them all, it will be interesting to see how they handle Schwarber, Vogelbach Bryant, and Baez, as they all profile best as corner infielders to me. No DH in the NL, but that would be killer with this group. They will need some arms eventually though. I imagine dealing some of these guys, like Rizzo or Castro, could get them some. They also have C.J. Edwards in the system to that end as well.

They have just $31 mil in payroll obligations next season. Not a ton of good free agent SP but there are a few (Shields, Scherzer, Lester, Liriano, Masterson, Santana). And they have a few arms, no top arms but some 3-5 guys. Jackson, Arrieta, Wood, Straily isn't terrible. Can't be an organization that is in better looking shape than the Cubs right now for '16 and beyond.

A's aren't bad either, just $41 mil in obligation, but their top level minors is pretty depleted. Gray, Samardzija, Parker, Hammel(assuming they extend him), Kazmir next season. The offensive FA's are pretty much a wasteland but they have enough offense to be good, hell their run differential this year is off the charts. They have Daniel Robertson up and coming so I think that is why the could move Russell more easily.
