Will Smith gave up 5 er's total in April/May/June. He's given up 10 in July!

They can be quite annoying, no doubt.

What a crazy trade deadline day?! I'm not sure if the trades were more surprising or the fact that there was no discussion here about it yet.
I can't remember the last time that teams in contention traded their existing MLB talent to shore up other areas of need with Cespedes and Jackson being dealt for some big time lefties in Lester and Price. Craig also from the Cards, but not to the same extent as he is having an awful year and it officially begins the Oscar Taveras era.
I am pretty happy with the Red Sox fire sale as they get some necessary OF and lineup help. Now all they need is to re-sign Lester and get the youngsters incorporated the rest of this year to become solid contributors next year.

I would have been talking about it, if the Giants had been able to do anything. They've played so bad that is just wasn't worth the risk of trading any prospects for okay talent. Hopefully getting Belt and Pagan back will help and they did get Peavy to replace Cain, who may or may not be back this year.

I was out all day, which was a bit scary considering the Tigers were making the biggest deal of the day, and were also in for Miller for awhile. Scary because I wasn't near a computer to quickly check the rumors and protect any potentially useful prospects who could be on the move! Really active deadline, and the trades leading up to it were really solid as well. Really spices up the playoff race for sure.

I'm a little disappointed in what the Rays got for Price. I do like Franklin and Smyly does have some upside, but I thought they would be able to get Franklin and one of Walker/Paxton/Pedersen. Or a couple top 10 specs from the Cubs or Dodgers.
I do understand what they did, however. They wanted guys that are MLB ready, so I guess they accomplished that. Still feel like they gave up the best player in the 3 team trade but got the short end of the stick. Time will tell.
I'm kinda stoked for the A's. I would like to see Billy Beene finally get his championship in Oakland.

The 1-3 hitters for Blue Jays got on base 15x today and never scored a run!

That's a crazy stat.
I love those box scores from those epic long games. Great job from the Jay bullpen to shut up shop after Buerle didn't even last 4 innings.

Buxton carted off field after being knocked out in collision. Really hope he's okay. His AA debut.

Did you see the collision? It was horrifying! Reminded me of the Cameron/Beltran collision.
