I thought I would create a thread where we could post questions about IFA's eligibility for the upcoming FA Player pool.

When Kwang Hyun Kim signs with the Padres probably this week would he be added to the FA bidding pools?
Raisel Iglesias (CIN) - 24 year old

there is a "Hyo-Joon Park" listed on the list of International Prospects for the recently completed draft - is that the same guy? if so, I assume that since he wasn't drafted, he is now my property and not eligible for FA!

Right, except my point is he shouldn't of been listed for the draft because he is over 16 years old.

I'm just trying to get clarity on the rule and how we are planning to apply it. Didn't mean to pick one of your players.

Where does it say anything in the rules about 16 year olds?

The age is 21 or under, we may look at some IFA;s under 21 and reason that they belong in FA instead if they are that highly hyped.

Roberto Baldoquin was just signed by the Angels. He is 20 BUT he has played 3 seasons in Pro ball. Is he an IFA?

Not to interject, but a guy who could be in the majors after one season I think is a pretty impact bat. Also by next off season he will be 21 I am just wondering if we can set a standard on what the definition of an impact guy is. Ok I need to get back to gingerbread house decoration (no seriously that is what I'm doing)

I think the idea behind our rule is that most likely anyone 21 and under won't be an impact bat. Of course those 22 and over won't necessarily be impact bats either. There is not a whole lot more we can do with this rule. We could do it based on the signing bonus for the younger guys and contract amount for the older guys I suppose. I'm open to suggestions, but I think the way we have it is 98% good.
