First off I voted for this rule... So I am to blame... But I see a problem with it during the offseason... During the offseason I am just trying to protect as many prospects as possible before they get traded. I think the spirit of the rule is that if someone protects a player 3 times DURING the season, the contract should be guaranteed. But during the offseason? I honestly think that a team should have unlimited protect/unprotects. I'm not asking for a rule change just wanted to see what other people thought. Or if like so many things (including my collection of Prince William tattoos) I am alone here...

The 3-max protections in a season rule only affects 4th-6th year players - players who previously would have gone onto waivers when unprotected. 1st-3rd year players may be protected and unprotected as you see fit with no limit.
