All,
It has come to light that there have been a number of trades erroneously posted and allowed involving players signed with hometown discounts this past offseason. This is in contravention of rule: 5.11.2 Free Agent signed with a Hometown Discount Initial No-trade Window
It is the view of TTC that there was no ill intent in any of the actions of any parties, either in posting trades or in approving them. Similarly, as trades involving players who should have been ineligible for trade involved a large number of teams it is not possible to say that the failure to enforce this rule benefited one or two (or a small number of) teams unfairly. Since there was no malice involved and no unfair advantage gained, TTC are in agreement that any trades involving players who should not have been traded (as per rule 5.11.2) will stand without penalty.
Going forward TTC will remain vigilant towards rule 5.11.2, and will do their best to ensure that it is appropriately respected. Likewise, we may look to owners to assist with policing this rule by highlighting players signed with hometown discounts on their roster - although this is a topic which remains open for discussion.
If you have any questions then please give anyone on TTC a shout.
Stephen

I'm always happy when you write this up Stephen because I get to look up new words like contravention.

I don't know why, but I always get all posh when typing stuff up. Perhaps it's something to do with my job where the majority of emails I write basically say nothing. I don't use anything over 5 letter words in real life.
