Man, I hate Holds. I can't seem to ever choose the correct game to employ the right guy. I currently have two of the top 10 HLDS guys in the league, and still I'm middle of the pack. I don't know if this is a result of having three closers, which limits me to only three possible holds guys, or just bad luck. Maybe it's because I don't have anybody but Alex Wood who's eligible at SP/RP.

It's a category I've never played with before... but relief pitchers in general are just a pain in the azz.

I swear the other day I was looking at box scores and relievers must have given up like 30 earned runs that day.

Maybe we can look at making it a H+S catagory next season?

You can propose it if you wish (personally I'd be against it), but we'd need another category to keep it a 6x6 league...

I wasn't really proposing we change anything, and I don't know if I'd be behind equalizing Saves and Holds. I was just saying that they're a frustrating stat that I don't really know how to chase yet.

Yeah, it's so tricky to catch holds...
There's also nothing more frustrating than seeing your SP pitched 7 shutout innings, and then your set up guy gave up 4 earned runs in .1 innings.
Quality Starts and OBP are two interesting categories to look at though.

I like wins. QS are too similar to ERA for my liking - they're not too far away from being the same category.

QS in a league without ERA and with HLDs would make sense, in a way. It would award the best pitching staff without penalizing a staff full of RP who could give up 4ER in an inning. That's the biggest difference between QS and ERA in my opinion.
