Hey guys, I just finished building a new house and sold my old house. After working all winter at my job and then putting in full time hours framing and finishing my house, i think i deserve a holliday. My wife and I are planning on going Aug 7 weekend. I would like to see a new ballpark as going to see every single ballpark is on my bucket list. So far i have been to Toronto, the old expo(montreal), metro dome and target field in minnesota, fenway and safeco field. If the red sox start playing better i will go to anaheim and watch them take on the Angels. Any recommendations on a must see stadium and town, its just for the weekend.

Arlington is MUST AVOID during the summer. Too hot. Houston on a Friday is awesome because the tickets are cheap and they close the dome after the game for the fireworks show. Pretty amazing stadium (and pretty empty)...

Pretty amazing stadium (and pretty empty)... Yeah Astros games are nice just because it's cheap and usually empty. You can buy the cheapest tickets and saunter into the crawford boxes, or pretty close behind home plate a few innings in, and nobody cares. Might be a bit much of a travel for you though. My buddy in St. Louis has been raving about the ballpark village addition to the area around Busch. Definitely one of the most scenic parks.

Congrats on the new house. Gotta be good feeling.
I'm in Tampa. The city is fun but the Trop isn't anything special to see.

Well, I've been to a handful of them, and from my experience, I would say St. Louis provides an overall great baseball experience. Even if I hate the Cardinals. Great park, nice city. I also enjoyed trips to Philly and Seattle, though you said you've been to Safeco. There's lots to do in Philly for a weekend trip, and my experience at the park was good.
I live in the Milwaukee area, and for me it's tough to beat the ballgame experience at Miller Park. Nice, relatively new stadium, but for me it's all about the pregame tailgating in the adjacent lots. Just not the same other places I go. However, Milwaukee isn't a particularly exciting town to visit.

San Francisco easily. Maybe the best park in MLB, and for sure one of the best cities to visit for a weekend. Plus you can just drive by the Coliseum because really unless you are an A's fan no real good reason to go to that place to watch baseball lol.

the only stadium i have been to is AT&T Park in SF and it was great. as someone who's more used to football/soccer crowds, it was a bit like going to a cricket match but i expect all baseball games are a bit like that!

The only stadium I've seen a game at was (new) Yankee Stadium. It was a decent facility but I didn't think much of the atmosphere.
I've done a stadium tour of Fenway and I think that would be a better experience. I know that people slate it, but i think as a one-off it would be super.
Chase Field looked pretty nice from the outside, but I only drove past it.
In a semi-related topic, if anybody ever finds themselves in Western Australia I can recommend the WACA (for cricket, although I imagine that Aussie rules football there would also be brilliant). I think that's go to be my favourite venue ever, but I do like the historic and quirky.

My favorite ballparks that I visited in order:
1) Fenway (Watched the A's beat the Red Sox) 2) Old Yankee Stadium 3) Oakland Stadium (I refuse to call it O.co) Yes it is old and terrible in every way possible... But I saw my team win their 20th game in a row there. 4) Astrodome 5) Minute Maid (Holly fast acting retractable roof Batman) Food is amazing. Easy to get really good seats. 6) Coors Field. Fantastic weather! This was pre-humidor days when the fans could watch 500 HRs a night. 7) Comerica Park 8) Kauffman Stadium 8) Camden

Minute Maid actually has an all you can eat section on the second deck in right field. For $30 you get all the peanuts, popcorn, hotdogs, nachos, and soft drinks you want.

Don't forget the all you can eat section includes gas masks for all those people that are unable to take the fumes coming out of the various fans in the area...
